Celebrity Chef Hal Yamashita

Hal Yamashita is the creator of "Nouvelle Japanese", a fusion culinary artistry that pays hommage to the marriage of the finest ingredients.

A Kobe native, Chef Yamashita has been strongly influenced by the mixed culinary ideologies of his hometown and this can be seen today in his fusion style of cooking.

He firmly believes that the finest ingredients lie at the heart of fine dining, and this philosophy defines all nine of his restaurants in Japan. His culinary artistry, unique point of view and creative recipes have given him deserved recognition in the world of gourmet gastronomy. He has twice had the rare honour of being a representative of Japanese Master Chefs at the World Gourmet Summit, has been a special advisor to The United Nations World Food Programme and was awarded Best Chef at the World Gourmet Summit 2010.

A humanitarian at heart, Chef Yamashita established the HAL YAMASHITA Everyone’s Drinking Water to the Disaster Area! Fund following the Tohoku earthquake in 2011.

With over a decade of experience, he has sharpened his culinary skills at Michelin-starred restaurants around the globe under the mentorship of renowned chefs like Hiroshi Sasaki, Sun Kim, and Joël Robuchon.

Starting out her career in decorated restaurants like Nobu and Zuma gave Chef Quynh the edge above her peers. With over twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry all over the world, including California, Las Vegas, New York, Washington DC, Hong Kong, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, she is equipped with a global culinary perspective. Her contributions at Zuma Dubai and Zuma Abu Dhabi helped these restaurants secure spots on the Middle East & North Africa 50 Best Restaurants list. Chef Quynh brings exceptional leadership, innovative recipe development, and a deep understanding of diverse culinary traditions to the table.
