Art at Curate Series Four

Ramón Freixa

Two-star Michelin Chef

Ramón Freixa is born in 1971 in a small village near Barcelona to a family in the restaurant business, and grew up surrounded by the sights, smells and sounds of the kitchen. After his studies, Ramón continued learning the trade in Belgium and France before returning to work in the family restaurant, taking over at the helm in 1998, which was also the year he published his first cookbook.

A second cookbook followed in 2004, along with his stint at Ávalon in Barcelona’s Grand Hotel Central. In 2009, he relocated to head the eponymous restaurant Ramón Freixa Madrid in Hotel Único, where he was given free rein, which paid off with two Michelin stars awarded in 2010, which he has maintained till today.

In 2016, Ramón made Spanish history as the first chef to be conferred the prestigious Prize of Culture from the Community of Madrid.

About Chef Li

Chef Li Kwok Kwong

Chinese Head Chef

At 49 years of age, Chef Li Kwok Kwong made a life-altering decision when he decided to join Resorts World Sentosa as Chinese Head Chef. After an illustrious 21 years spent honing his culinary skills at Wah Lok restaurant in Carlton Hotel, Singapore, he decided to uproot himself by coming on board Singapore’s first integrated resort. Ask him what his motivating factor is and he’ll tell you it’s to put himself to the test and to scale greater heights.

Originally from Hong Kong, Chef Li was a young chef of 28 when he ventured out of his home country and took up his first job at Wah Lok. The restaurant awards which Wah Lok has garnered over the years are testament to Chef Li’s culinary excellence during his tenure there.

Here, he will also uphold the highest standards as he prepares a healthy take on Cantonese cuisine, inspired by Singapore’s belief in the healing principles of Chinese food therapy.

Previously, he has worked in Miramar Hotel and Lei Garden in Hong Kong.
