What is this programme?
aRWSome Apprenticeship is a partnership between RWS Cares and Heartware Network to reach out and inspire youths at risk through mentorship programmes with Resorts World Sentosa senior staff members. There are a total of 4 tracks available.
What are the tracks available?
The tracks available are:
1) Culinary
2) Hospitality and Retail
3) Theme Parks
4) Performing Arts and Entertainment
The first track will be on Culinary. It will be held from 22 - 24 June 2011. The remaining 3 tracks will be released in the future.
Application
When can I apply?
Application for the first track on Culinary will be opened from 5 June 2011 to 12 noon on 16 June 2011. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Who can apply?
The programme is open to underprivileged youths aged 15 to 18 (inclusive) from families with household incomes below $1,500. Volunteer Welfare Organisations (VWOs) working with these youths are welcome to apply on behalf of these beneficiaries.
If I am an interested youth but not a beneficiary of a VWO, can I apply?
All applicants will need to be endorsed by a VWO.
Is there a cap to the number of beneficiary my VWO can nominate?
Each VWO can nominate one beneficiary only.
How do I apply?
VWOs working with these youths are welcome to apply on behalf of the youths using the attached application form [DOC, 465KB]. The completed application form and supporting documents will need to be sent to arwsome@heartware-network.org before 12 noon on 16 June 2011.
When will the results be released?
Only shortlisted applicants will be notified by 17 June 2011. The decision by the committee will be final and binding.

What should I do if I am interested in tracks other than Culinary?
Application for other tracks are not open yet.
Programme
Do I need to pay any registration fee?
No, but 100% commitment is expected from each youth nominated by the VWO.
What are the specific details for reporting (eg. dress code, reporting time) if I have been accepted?
All shortlisted applicants will receive an information package with the relevant details after 17th June 2011.
Will there be any allowance and insurance provided?
Each participating VWO will be responsible for providing any allowance or insurance.
Will there be any transport provided to the venue?
No transport will be provided to attend the programme. Participants will need to arrange for their own transport.
Will an adult supervisor be allowed to accompany the participant throughout the programme?
Adult supervisors are not allowed to accompany the participant during the programme.
Will I need to sign an indemnity form for the programme?
Parents / guardians of shortlisted applicants must complete an indemnity form and submit it to arwsome@heartware-network.org. The indemnity form will be provided to shortlisted applicants with the information package.
Am I allowed to drop out of the programme once it has started?
All participants are expected to attend the full programme.
