The Maritime Experiential Museum™
The Maritime Experiential Museum (MEM) at Resorts World Sentosa will be undergoing major refurbishment from 15 April 2017. The revamped museum will be unveiled in end 2017 with refreshed content and exciting offerings, in an all-new and immersive gallery, that will enhance guests’ experiences as they journey through the Maritime Silk Road.
MEM will remain open until 14 April 2017 before enhancement works begin. Guests can continue to explore S.E.A. Aquarium, home to more than 100,000 marine animals from across 800 species.
An innovative, interactive and multi-sensorial museum, The Maritime Experiential Museum is the only museum in Singapore where visitors can experience Asia’s rich maritime history and discover Singapore’s past as a trading port. This trip back in time begins along the ancient Maritime Silk Route, which recreates the sights, sounds and scents of the bustling bazaars and where you can interact with the exhibits.
See a fascinating trove of precious artefacts from the Bakau shipwreck and Temasek archaeological site that can be found at the Maritime Archaeology Gallery. View life-sized ship replicas of Asian sailing vessels from the docks at the Historic Ship Harbour, and learn more about Asia’s maritime and cultural heritage through the museum’s education programmes. This unforgettable visit ends on a nail-biting note in the 360º multimedia Typhoon Theatre where visitors ‘board’ a sailing ship and encounter a perilous storm. The most amazing voyage of discovery awaits at The Maritime Experiential Museum.
