Mark Fisher
Architect and Show Designer, Conceiver (UK)

Mark Fisher 
Mark has an international reputation for creating spectacular live entertainment. He has designed some of the most memorable rock concerts ever staged, including “The Wall” for Pink Floyd, every Rolling Stones show since 1989, and every U2 concert since 1992.

He also designed the theatre, scenery and acrobatic effects for “KÀ”, the permanent show by Cirque du Soleil at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and the opening and closing ceremonies for both the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.

Mark’s current work includes the design of the “U2 360 World Tour” that opened in June 2009, the design of the Elvis show for Cirque du Soleil at City Center in Las Vegas, and the design of the Opening Ceremony for the Asian Games in Guangzhou. Mark Fisher MVO OBE RIBA is a chartered architect registered in the UK. HM The Queen honoured him for his work on “The Millennium Show”, and again for his work on her Golden Jubilee in 2002.

Philip Wm Mckinley
Director, Co- Conceiver (US)

Mr. McKinley directed the five-time TONY-nominated Broadway musical “The Boy from Oz” starring Hugh Jackman, the revival of “The Most Happy Fella” starring Paul Sorvino at the New York City Opera, the 1999 Drama Desk-nominated hip comedy “Thwack”, and the Off-Broadway musical “Zombie Prom”.

He was nominated for a Barrymore Award as Best Director of the new musical “Nerds:// A Musical Software Satire” which played at the Philadelphia Theater Company and garnered seven Barrymores including Best Score and Best Book for a Musical. McKinley devised and directed Kenneth Feld’s European-style one-ring “Barnum’s Kaleidescope” and conceived, directed and staged the 128th - 133rd and 135th edi¬tions of “Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey’s The Greatest Show on Earth”. He most recently directed and conceived with Kenneth and Nicole Feld, his tenth Ringling production making him the person who has directed more editions of “Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey” than any other living person.

Mr McKinley directed “Ben Hur Live”, an operatic sports spectacular which had its world premiere in September 2009 at the “02 Dome in London. He is also developing with producer Dean Zanuck the original movie musical “State of Affairs”, and developing a series of animated films for Pixar.

Ray Winkler
Architect, Show designer, Co-Conceiver (UK)


Ray has been an architect and production designer at Stufish since 1997. His recent work includes the set design for “BeLIEve”, the Criss Angel magic show produced by Cirque du Soleil at the Luxor in Las Vegas, and the design for the 2012 London Olympic Handover Ceremony at the closing of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

In 2007 Ray designed Robbie Williams’ “Close Encounters” arena and stadium tour, the nine worldwide ‘Live Earth’ stages, the “Take That European Arena Tour” and a multi media outdoor show for Universal Studios Japan. Ray has also designed numerous live TV shows, including MTV Icons, MTV Movie Awards, the EMAs in Edinburgh, Rome, Lisbon and Copenhagen, the BRITS in London and the NFL Superbowl in Detroit. He has also worked on tours for U2 and the Rolling Stones, and designed shows for Johnny Hallyday at the Eiffel Tower and the Olympia Theatre in Paris, and multimedia spectacles for Jean Michel Jarre at the Great Pyramids in Giza and the Acropolis in Greece.

Jonathan Lim
Composer (Singapore)


Jonathan has over a decade’s experience crafting music scores for a variety of award-winning movies and commercial jingles in Asia. His projects include “The Singapore Story” - Singapore’s largest 3D multimedia display on permanent exhibit in the Singapore History Museum, and the multiple-award winning film, ‘15’. The film collected ac¬colades at the Deauville Asian Film Festival, Buenos Aires and was broadly nominated at the Venice and Sundance Film Festivals.

Commercially, Jonathan has produced highly successful jingles for clients such as Coca-Cola, Canon, Tiger Beer, Panasonic, JVC, KFC and M1, to name a few. Classically trained, Jonathan is renowned across Asia for his talent in crafting music that fuses both East and West. From emotive soundtracks in local cinematic pro¬ductions to high-energy pieces for 3D multimedia performances, Jonathan’s artistic versatility and his trademark ability of blending Eastern and Western orchestrations, makes him nonpareil in the music industry. He is based in Singapore and spends his time between Singapore, Tibet and his residence in Beijing.

Maribeth Derry
Lyricist (US)


A graduate of the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University with a graduate degree in Musical Theatre, Maribeth Derry worked for three seasons of Repertory Theatre and Off Broadway Musicals before settling in Pittsburgh where she hosted and produced a morning talk show on the NBC affiliate, and produced local children’s theatre. She later moved to Los Angeles to pursue a songwriting career where she was much sought after as a lyricist. She received two Emmy Awards for her work in television, including her main title theme for “Fame LA”. Spending part of each year in Nashville, she co-wrote the song I Can Love You Like That in 1995, which went to #1 Country with John Michael Montgomery, and #3 Pop for the group All -4-One. It was the ASCAP and BMI Song of The Year, and was nominated for two Grammy awards: Best Pop Song and Best Country Song.

Over the next few years, Maribeth had continuous chart success in Country music, including two chart toppers for Lonestar, Not a Day Goes By and Let’s Be Us Again. Her film work includes the End Titles to “The Rugrats In Paris” (When You Love), and “The Wild Thornberrys” (Bridge to The Stars), and a song in “The Wedding Planner” (Adore You). Currently, Maribeth is in development on several new original live stage productions with her ‘Ten Commandments’ collaborator, Patrick Leonard (best known for his work with Madonna, Elton John, Bryan Ferry, Roger Waters) and they are negotiating to write the music and lyrics for a live stage production of ‘The Secret Life Of Bees’. A new production of “The Ten Commandments” is scheduled to open in Toronto Canada, in June of 2010, directed by French director, Elie Chouraqui, the creator of the original French mega hit, “Les Dix Commandments”.

Jeffrey Yue
Sound Design (Singapore)

Jeffrey was awarded the Glaxo-Wellcome/EDB scholarship to pursue a degree in technical theatre at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Upon graduation, he returned as Sound Coordinator for the Esplanade, Theatres on the Bay, Singapore. With his focus on theatrical sound design and production engineering, Jeffrey has worked extensively in the UK and other parts of the world. Recently, he designed the world premiere of a Khmer rock opera, Where Elephant Weeps, featuring traditional Cambodian music at the Cenla Theater, Phnom Penh, Cambodia and also The King Lear Trilogy as part of the unstenFESTIVALdesArts at Brussel, Belgium. Back in Singapore, Jeffrey was the sound designer for the largest show in town – National Day Parade 2009. As an educator, Jeffrey teaches and develops the curriculum for the ‘Performance Sound’ module as part of the diploma/degree Technical Theatre Arts programme at the LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. He is also an Artist-In-Residence of the acclaimed Hong Kong Academy of Performance Arts with the Entertainment, Design and Technology department. Recently, Jeffrey also collaborated with three times Golden Horse Award winner, Lim Giong, from Taiwan on the Sound Seed Project commissioned, as part of the Huayi Festival, by the Esplanade Theatres on the Bay, Singapore

John A. Williams and Psyche Chui
Lighting Design (Hong Kong)

John A. Williams and Psyche Chui have the combined experience of lighting over 400 productions world-wide. In London’s West End these have included “Present Laughter” - Vaudeville, “When The Wind Blows - Whitehall, Judy” (the Musical) - the Strand, and at the Mermaid “A Street Car Named Desire” and “Kipling” which transferred to New York's Broadway. Working internationally they have lit for Theatre, Dance, Opera, Commercial Companies and other projects in Paris, Florence, Athens, Thailand, Taiwan, Monte Carlo, Shanghai, USA (winning the Indiana Theatre Critics Award for Best Lighting Design, “Twelfth Night”), Dublin Ireland, Singapore, Korea, Stratford Ontario, Canada and Hawaii.

John and Psyche are resident at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts as Dean and Senior Lecturer, Lighting Design, respectively. In Hong Kong they light regularly for Hong Kong Ballet Company, the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre Company, Chung Ying Theatre Company and Hong Kong Dance Company winning several Best Lighting Design awards. Projects in Hong Kong also includes lead Lighting Designer for the world’s largest permanently installed light and sound production, the award-winning Hong Kong Harbour Light Show, “A Symphony of Light”. The show was entered into the Guinness Book of Records on December 21st 2005. Other shows currently running include a Cultural Theme Show “Siam Niramit” at the newly constructed Ratchada Theatre, Bangkok, and the award winning Phuket FantaSea Cultural Show & Theme Park, Thailand.

Both Lighting Designers are regularly invited as Guest Lecturers and Visiting Professors and have taught their subject at the Theatre Academy of Finland, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London, the Beijing and Shanghai Theatre Academies, for the British Council in Luxembourg and Belgium, and for the California Institute of Arts, Indiana and Yale Universities, USA. Psyche has conducted several Master Classes for the Drama Box Theatre Company, and the Theatre Practice, Singapore. John has a book published ‘Create Your Own Stage Lighting’. In 2005 John was nominated to, and the following year accepted into Who’s Who International of Professionals for inclusion in the Society’s 2006/07 listing.

Phylia Poh
Costume Concept (Singapore)

Phylia holds a Diploma in Graphic Design, BA in Product Design from Australia and was awarded the Raffles Scholarship to do a MPhil in England. She is now completing her PhD in International Relations (SEA Studies) at Xiamen University [China].

Her interests and talents in the various forms of art and design has won her many awards in design and art competitions, latest being the best float design for Chingay Parade 2009. She has been invited as a judge and consultant for many creative and artistic events. In 2000, she was a finalist for the ITE-Rotary Entrepreneurship Award and 2001, the Shell Livewire Young Entrepreneur Award. She holds many administrative positions in design, education and entrepreneurial industries. Prior to embarking on her own creative business, she was also a design lecturer in a polytechnic for over 10 years.

Virginia Chu
Costume Designer (Hong Kong)


Virginia Chu is an award winning costume designer with over 15 years of costume experience. For 10 years, she was the Costume Department Head of the Hong Kong Ballet, producing over 70 productions, such as “Swan Lake”, “Nutcracker”, “Sleeping Beauty”, “The Last Emperor”, “Coppelia” and “Romeo & Juliet”.

In 2005, she was recipient of Hong Kong’s Best Costume Design for her work in “Legend of the Great Archer”. Later that year she left the Ballet to work as the Senior Costumer for the mega-launch of Disneyland Hong Kong, producing costumes for Festival of the Lion King, Golden Mickey, Day Parade, opening show, as well as the park scenarios and themed hotel costume set. In 2006, she set up Limelight Costume Services, providing costume services to Broadway organizations and global entertainment companies throughout Asia. Their work included Lea Salonga in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella World Tour 2008”, “Sound of Music” Asia Tour 2008, “The King & I” Asia Tour 2007 and “Swan Lake” at Esplanade Theatre, presented by Singapore Dance Theatre.

Alain Gauthier
Circus Arts Choreographer (Canada US)

As a stage artist Alain Gauthier joined Cirque du Soleil in 1986 and totaled some 1600 live performances with the troupe. He has been part of the acrobatic movement research team that has helped Cirque du Soleil achieve the style of performance that they present today. Alain has also been a teacher at the famous National Circus School in Montreal, having his own influence on performers that have been seen by audiences all over the world.

Alain then expanded his passion to dance and acting, working with world-renowned choreographer, Debra Brown, famous directors Robert Lepage and Franco Dragone. In the last eight years he has gradually developed a taste for choreography, staging, and designing. His most famous creative work has been seen in the equestrian show “Cavalia”, where he combines his choreographic art with horses, on the biggest touring production in the world.

Among his well-known creative achievements are “The Millennium Dome” show (London 2000, Peter Gabriel), “Zulu Time (Robert Le Page), “Zumanity” (Cirque du Soleil), “La Damnation de Faust” (Opera de Paris, Metropolitan Opera, NY), “Ice from Russia” (Las Vegas), and recently, NBC‟s Celebrity Circus and the 2008 Olympic Gymnastic Superstars tour.

Jeffrey Tan
Movement Choreographer (Singapore)

Jeffrey Tan was appointed to the newly created post of Resident Choreographer for Singapore Dance Theatre since October 2004. He holds concurrently the post of Assistant Ballet Master and Senior Artiste of Singapore Dance Theatre.

Jeffrey’s first principal role was Franz in St. Leon and Marius Petipa’s full-length classic, “Coppelia”. Other principal roles included: The Prince in Anthony Then’s “The Nutcracker”, Good Boy in David Lichine’s “Graduation Ball”, Albrecht in Jean-Paul Comelin’s “Giselle”, Romeo in Goh Choo San’s “Romeo and Juliet”, Armand in Andrea Prokovsky’s “La Traviata” and “Anna Karenina”, Petal Miller-Ashmole’s “The Red Shoes”.

Jeffrey has also danced in one-act masterworks by George Balanchine, Goh Choo San, Leigh Warren, Graham Lustig, Jean-Paul Comelin, Val Caniparoli, Stanton Welch, Richard Wherlock, Thierry Malandain, Nacho Duato, Joachim Schlomer, Jiri Kylian, Boi Sakti and Marie-Claude Pietragalia.

With the Company, he had performed in numerous international festivals such as Le Temps d’Aimer la Danse a Biarritz in France, Festival Internaciaonal Cervantino in Mexico, Chang Mu Arts Festival in Korea, Festival of Dance in the Philippines. Jeffrey had also toured extensively to the United States, Australia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia and more recently to London for the Singapore Festival.

Zachary Borovay
Projection Designer (US)

Zachary Borovay combines cutting-edge computer technology with old world techniques to bring a soulful and organic world to life on stage. Recent works include PEEPSHOW (Planet Hollywood Casino Las Vegas; conceived, directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell), THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON (Universal Studios Hollywood), ROCK OF AGES (Broadway, Toronto), TO BE OR NOT TO BE(Broadway), A CATERED AFFAIR (Broadway; Drama Desk Nomination for Outstanding Projection and Video Design), XANADU (Broadway,National Tour, Japan), LES MISERABLES (National Tour; produced by Cameron Macintosh), The Radio City Music Hall CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR, and Joop van den Ende Theaterproduction's THE WIZ at the Beatrix Theater, Utrecht, Holland.

In addition to his theater work, Zak‟s projection designs have been seen on tour with musicians Simon and Garfunkel, comedian Chris Rock as well as numerous corporate events and museum installations including several exhibits at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C. With extensive experience in music performance, computer technology, video, photography and theatrical design, Berklee College of Music alumnus Zachary Borovay is also a frequent lecturer and author on the tools and techniques for theatrical projection design and computer technology. He is a frequent contributor to LiveDesign magazine and is the creative consultant to the Broadway Projection Master Classes. He has taught projection design theory and technology at the Yale School of Drama, New York University and Long Island University Brooklyn. Zachary was the first projection designer to become a member of USA 829. He was recently profiled in The New York Times.

Beno Lim
Make-up Designer (Singapore)

Beno Lim, MAC creative artist, is the Make-up Designer for the cast of Voyage de la Vie. Beno has almost 20 years of experience in professional makeup artistry. He has worked on many high-profile fashion runway events including the 2006/7 Singapore Fashion Week, MTV Asia Awards 2007, New Paper New Face 2005 through to 2009 and most recently Vivienne Westwoord and Marc for Marc Jacobs and Spring/ Summer 2010 Milan Fashion Week on DSqaured2.

He also did makeup shoots for top fashion publications such as VOGUE China, Modern Weekly Lifestyle China, Her World, Style, URBAN Straits Times, Seventeen, New Man, Nu You, Solitaire and Her World Wedding magazines. He also designed the make-up for top international celebrities like Fergie of Black Eye Peas, Lady Gaga, Debbie Gibson and Corinne May, to name a few. Beno is no stranger to the local theatre scene as well. He worked on productions like Cabaret, Dim Sum Dollies Musicals, Won Ton Mee, Bent, Beauty and the Beast Musical, Army Daze, Animal Farm,Cinderel-lah! Titoudao, Beauty World and the forthcoming Victor Victoria.
