aRWSome Kids' Date
Resorts World Sentosa’s annual charity outreach program, aRWSome Kids’ Date, began as an initiative to give underprivileged kids a day of hope, a day where they could forget the worries at home and really have fun.
The Resort works with the local charity agencies to organize a day out for underprivileged kids, social workers and volunteers.
Another integral component of the aRWSome Kids' Date program is the aRWSome Volunteers, a staff volunteer program to encourage and instill the spirit of giving in each and every one of our staff. Our Team Members are a testament of the RWS philanthropic culture, taking the lead to volunteer and giving back to the community.
Voluntary Welfare Organisations that have benefitted from aRWSome Kids' Date includes Mendaki, Sinda, Chinese Development Assistance Council, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Children’s Cancer Foundation, Andrew and Grace Home, The Children’s Aid Society, MINDS, Assisi Home & Hospice and Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home.

On 8 Nov, RWS took about 300 children, some of whom have never entered a theatre, to the movies.
Together with volunteers, generous bankers, donors and sponsors, RWS bused the children from the Community Chest Family Service Centres and CDAC to Lido for the Saturday morning date, complete with breakfast, toys and movie must-haves- popcorn and drinks.
RWS raised more than $20,000 for the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund through this event.

aRWSome Kids' Date 2009
In June, Resorts World held its second aRWSome Kids' Date, and this year, RWS raised $30,000 for the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund at a private screening of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
We brought 300 kids from community groups Mendaki, Sinda and CDAC for the treat and showered them with toys, food and games.

The third installment of aRWSome Kids’ Date “wowed” more than 580 extremely excited kids and social workers at Universal Studios Singapore during its first weekend. The persistent drizzle didn’t dampen the mood a bit.

"We would like to thank Make-A-Wish and Resorts World Sentosa for granting Rachel Cheng and family to Universal Studios Singapore. Rachel had a great time. She enjoyed the Canopy Flyer (The Lost World) most. She sat for 5 times. Thanks again for making all these possible!!!"
- Nancy Woo (Rachel Cheng's mum)
