With 700,000 fishes in 20 million gallons of water, the Marine Life Park will be the world’s largest oceanarium. Research and education are the cornerstones of this attraction, which aims to inspire, educate and enrich the understanding and protection of the oceans.

RWS adheres to CITES standards

Marine Life Park will be the largest oceanarium in the world when it opens in 2010. It will be a destination committed to giving guests the opportunity to discover, understand and act on the conservation of our oceans.

The acquisition of animals for the Marine Life Park will be done in full compliance with international standards which, in this case, are standards set by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). For more than 30 years, CITES has been the global framework sanctioned to monitor and regulate the exchange of wild animals and plants in ensuring that they remain sustainable.

Conservation, the funding of research and contribution to the wealth of marine knowledge will be the cornerstones of the Marine Life Park.
